Our History

Medical team SUV and jet with Strata Critical logos parked on airport tarmac under cloudy sky.

2014: Founded as Blade

Strata was founded under the name Blade. At the time, the business operated as an asset light passenger air mobility company with a focus on service and around the clock availability.

2019: Entered organ transport with NYU Langone

Blade partnered with NYU Langone, our first transplant center customer. We began supporting organ and medical team movements through air and ground logistics. That partnership marked the start of our transplant journey and helped us quickly grow into the largest organ transportation provider in the Northeast.

2021: Go public transaction

We completed our go public transaction.

2021: Acquired Trinity Medical Services

We acquired Trinity Medical Services. Trinity brought deep institutional knowledge and relationships within the transplant ecosystem. Combined with Strata’s operational platform and aviation expertise, the acquisition accelerated our ability to expand and support transplant customers at scale.

August 2025: Divested Blade Passenger Business and Rebranded to Strata Critical Medical

We announced the sale of the Blade Passenger business to Joby Aviation for up to $125 million. Following the divestiture, we rebranded to Strata Critical Medical and changed our ticker to SRTA, reflecting our 100% focus on healthcare.

September 2025: Acquired Keystone Perfusion

Strata acquired Keystone Perfusion, a leading provider of transplant clinical services to the transplant community and perfusion services for cardiac surgery programs across the country.

Timeline from 2014 Blade founded to planned 2025 rebrand, acquisitions, IPO, and passenger business divestment.
